ViconNet Components

The ViconNet software was designed from the start to support the security industry’s transition to IP video. A creative mix of components makes up one of the most diverse IP video lines found today. The outstanding image quality and compression that is the foundation of ViconNet is what separates these products from the rest.

I-ONYX IP Cameras
Vicon’s brand new line of powerful IP cameras with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) delivers premium performance at every level. Available in three versions, super-high-resolution, day/night and wide dynamic range models, these cameras offer a maximum transmission rate of 30 fps at 720 x 488 (4 CIF). Analog composite output allows for local set up and serves as a redundant video source in case of network failure.

I-ONYX Megapixel Cameras
Vicon’s new line of megapixel cameras goes hand-in-hand with ViconNet version 5 software. The new cameras, all of which feature 1.3 megapixel resolution and M-JPEG/MPEG-4 compression, are available in box camera, bullet, dome or impact-resistant dome models for indoor, outdoor, day/night and IR day/night functionality. All include a progressive scan CMOS image device, PoE, power adapter, and maximum resolution of SXGA (1280x1024) with frame rate up to 8 fps (lower resolutions provide higher fps). Lenses vary by model.

EDGE DEVICES

KTX-4 Four-Channel Video Server
The KTX-4 encodes video from up to four analog cameras into high-quality digital signals for use with the ViconNet system. It works with all analog cameras, regardless of manufacturer, and is remotely managed and controlled from ViconNet Workstations and Kollector Elite DVRs. When racked together, the KTX-4 provides a modular, high-density solution for supporting large numbers of analog cameras at a low cost-per-channel.

KRX-3 Video Decoder
The key to the ViconNet Virtual Matrix Controller is the KRX-3 – a 3-channel video decoder that converts ViconNet digital video into analog format for display on any monitor. The unit can support up to three simultaneous outputs in VGA, S-Video and composite video format. One output may be used as a quad.

DVRs and NVRs

Kollector Strike
The Kollector Strike series has evolved beyond ordinary DVR technology. The Strike hybrid DVR sports not only a new sleek (1U) design, but also serves as a network recorder with the ability to view and control local and remote IP devices. This includes 3rd party IP and megapixel cameras used as part of a ViconNet open-platform system. The Kollector Strike is H.264-ready and supports 120, 240 and 480 fps and up to 3 TB of internal storage; storage can be expanded with the use of external RAID devices.

Kollector Force
The Kollector Force harnesses the full power of ViconNet software in a compact 3U chassis. Offering a combination of DVR and NVR capability, the Force can be used as a total viewing station, viewing, recording and controlling station both local and remote network cameras. The Kollector Force is H.264 ready and is fully compatible with the ViconNet open platform, supporting IP and megapixel cameras from other manufacturers. Models are available with up to 480 fps and 5 TB of internal storage; models are available with internal RAIDs (4U).

ViconNet Workstations
Vicon offers a full line of NVRs, available either as software that loads onto a common PC and server platforms running Windows® XP or as a preconfigured PC (tower or rack-mount) that includes storage options and RAID compatibility. The end result is a Workstation ready to review and record video and audio over the LAN/WAN (Internet).

STORAGE

SAN Storage
With the growing demand for more storage space for IP video systems, Vicon has introduced a new line of Storage Area Network units using iSCSI technology. These SAN-RAIDs offer increased flexibility for system design and operation. Using iSCSI protocol, the recording device and storage device gain location independence from each other, connecting over the network, providing both cost and space savings. Additionally, ViconNet NVR Workstations and Kollector Elite Recorders are available with internal RAIDs. Refer to DVRs and NVRs for specific information.
