ViconNet Software Operational Differences

The ViconNet software offers several license levels that provide different functionality. This allows the user to choose the exact product required per operator.

Each license level can be purchased separately and updated in the future.

The Different Options

VN100 Viewer SoftwareThe basic level installation, VN100 allows the operator to view live and playback video from any ViconNet unit on the network (display 1 or 4 cameras at a time). It also allows creating archives out of the recorded data. This level does not allow recording video (NVR), mapping or any administration functions over the system (no programming functions).

VN500 Viewer+ SoftwareThis level offers the exact same functionality as the VN100 level with the addition of display of 1, 4, 6, 9 or 16 cameras at a time. Recording and programming are not allowed.

VN1000 WorkstationFully licensed NVR/administrator level, VN1000 allows the same functionality as the VN100/VN500 and also includes the ability to record video and to perform local and remote programming of the different ViconNet units.

The following table summarizes the major differences:

        Recommendations

The VN100 and VN500 should be considered Viewer software for those users who require simple live and playback functionality from their system. All users in need of either recording or programming capabilities should purchase the VN1000 license.

Nucleus units should also be running on a fully-licensed VN1000 in order to allow setting up the groups and users.
