Vicons Surveyor dome cameras and the companys Aurora matrix system have recently been installed at a major IKEA store on the outskirts of Brussels.
The Zaventem IKEA outlet is situated in the north-west of Brussels on the E40 Brussels-Liège highway and adjacent to the airport. The store opened earlier this month after a re-location.
IKEA are employing Vicons 1344 video matrix unit. This is a high-density 128 input by 24 output high-density programmable control and matrix switching system. The unit features a built-in interface for control by host computer, complete with graphical configurator for a PC.
The 1344 matrix can significantly simplify the design and installation of complex security installations. It includes user-friendly system programming via a computer-style keyboard and a menu-driven programming interface. The matrix offers extensive tour sequence support and there is also provision for comprehensive titling and a built-in interface for control by a host computer which is achieved through a graphical PC configurator.
The installer for the project was A & E Security of Bruges. A & E have offices in Antwerp, Ghent and Charleroi. The company has an enviable track record of major projects covering CCTV, fire protection, access control and perimeter guarding and surveillance.
Vicon Industries are currently enjoying considerable success in this marketplace and recent installations also include a prestigious CCTV project for an IKEA store in Florence.
IKEA has stores in 33 countries and continues its expansion in continental and Eastern Europe. The catalogue is the second most widely read document in the world after The Bible.
