CCTV equipment from Vicon Industries has recently been installed at Kenwood House in North London. Kenwood House is a neoclassical mansion which stands on the edge of Hampstead Heath.
Central to the new CCTV system at Kenwood house is a V1466 matrix. This unit is from Vicons Nova range. It can support 256 inputs and 32 outputs. The matrix offers extensive tour-sequence support and allows comprehensive titling. A built-in interface facilitates control by a host computer and the product is supplied with a graphical configurator for PCs.
At Kenwood House the matrix is monitoring for video loss using a Vicon video loss detector. The installation includes eight variable speed pan and tilt assemblies together with Vicon telemetry receivers. The data to the telemetry receivers is transmitted across star-wired twisted pair cable. The equipment was supplied to The White Group who have overseen the installation.
Kenwood is an English Heritage site. The present structure was created by Robert Adam between 1764-73. The house is famed for its art gallery which features the most important private collection of paintings ever given to the nation, the Iveagh Bequest. It includes world famous works by Turner, Reynolds, Vermeer, Botticelli and Gainsborough. Most notable is a self-portrait by Rembrandt. The house is also renowned for its collections of furniture, jewellery and porcelain.
