VICON GETTING LUCKY IN BRUSSELS

Vicon’s Kollector digital security station together with a 32 x 8 matrix system
have recently been installed at the headquarters of the Belgian National Lottery
in Brussels.

The Kollector range of digital recorders are standalone or networkable. They provide extended continuous record times well above the nearest competitor. Kollector can record from 16 cameras simultaneously and it has connections to alarm sensors and alarm relays.

The Belgian National Lottery was founded in 1934 and became a public corporation in 1975. The company’s headquarters are on Rue Belliard at the heart of the Brussels financial district.

The installation has been performed by Vicon's partner Chubb Lips of Brussels.

Managers at the Belgian National Lottery premises are benefiting from the Kollector’s ability to store video on a 45Gb hard drive. Additional drives can be added for further extended recording. Live or recorded video is viewed through a PC monitor. Video scenes can be exported easily from the system in standard JPEG format to the hard drive or to removable media. The unit not only does away with the need for videotape and monitors, but it also acts as a powerful multiplexer.

The Belgian National Lottery funds sporting, cultural and scientific activities. It gives much support to the Belgian Red Cross and purchases paintings and artefacts from abroad for the National Gallery in Brussels as well as well as financing a bid to implement a world-wide ban on land mines.
