VICON TEEING OFF

The Kollector digital security station from Vicon Industries has recently been installed at Moor Park Golf Club.

Moor Park is one of the finest golf courses in England and is famed for its
clubhouse, an eighteenth-century mansion designed in a Palladian style by
Sir James Thornhill. The building now has grade 1 listed status. The two championship golf courses were designed shortly after WWI. During WWII the mansion was the planning headquarters for the Battle of Arnhem.

The Kollector range of digital recorders are standalone or networkable. By using a sophisticated compression engine they provide extended continuous record times well above the nearest competitor. Kollector can record from 16 cameras simultaneously and allows instant recall of saved images both locally and across a network. It has connections to alarm sensors and alarm relays.

The Kollector stores its video on a 45Gb hard drive. Additional drives can be added for further extended recording. It also acts as a powerful multiplexer. Live or recorded video is viewed through a PC monitor, either locally or over a network using a special viewer software. Video scenes can be exported easily from the system in standard JPEG format onto a floppy disk or a network drive for e-mail delivery.

The installation was performed by Park House Integrated Systems who have also supplied the club with Vicon’s Surveyor 2000 dome cameras as well as the company’s pan & tilts.

Telford Payne of Park House Integrated comments: “The CCTV system performs a mixture of security and logistical functions. The club is monitoring vehicle flow, the perimeter of the clubhouse and usage of locker rooms. The Vicon digital recording equipment was selected for its quality of recording, ease of use and extended recording times. ”
