Vicons Surveyor dome cameras with impact resistant maximum security
housings have recently been installed at Lille Football Stadium.
Known as the Stade Grimonprez-Jooris, the football arena currently has a
capacity of 23,000. The Vicon units have been installed as part of
a development which will increase the grounds capacity to 35,000
while also providing corporate hospitality boxes and a new media
centre at the eastern side of the complex.
The S2000-MSH is a vandal-resistant housing featuring heavy-gauge steel assemblies which provide exceptional protection against tampering. A three-standoff mount is used to connect the Surveyor 2000 Camera Dome drive assembly.
The lower dome is produced in high-impact acrylic. Accessories allow for wall, ceiling and pole mounting. There is ample provision for cabling and a liquid-tight conduit prevents water ingress
The Lille stadium acted as a training facility during the 1998 World Cup and the city made a substantial bid to host the 2004 Olympics. Lille Football Club have won the French Cup five times and have been First Division champions on two occasions.
The equipment was supplied to the stadium by Vicons Brussels office working in association with their Paris-based partner Centre General de Chauf.
