Hauppauge, NY, October 16, 2007: Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of video surveillance systems, today announced the introduction of the VC-700S and VC-710S Camera Dome Series. The VC-700S and VC-710S Series of Fixed-Position Camera Domes are low-cost, compact domed cameras incorporating a fixed camera and lens combination. They are configured for in-ceiling or surface-mount installation. The unit can be installed directly to a standard 4x4 electrical box without the need of an adapter. The adjustable camera may be rotated a full 90 degrees allowing a straight down, unobstructed view of the area being monitored.
The VC-700 series includes a super-high-resolution color camera with an isolated power input and a varifocal, autoiris lens. The VC-710 series provides a wide dynamic range camera for the best contrast in difficult lighting environments. Both have a smoked lower dome. Models are available in NTSC and PAL formats.
The camera position is adjustable, allowing for adjustment of pan (360°), tilt (90° from vertical) and rotation about its axis (roll/azimuth), for any angle of view required. The lens zoom and focus can be easily adjusted. The camera accepts 12 VDC/24 VAC input; BLC, AGC, and Iris settings are DIP switch selectable.
“The VC-700/VC-710 Series of cameras complement our existing line of cameras by giving Vicon a low-cost dome camera that can be pointed straight down to provide an unobstructed view. We anticipate that this price/feature combination will be beneficial in many applications.” states Bret McGowan, Vice President of US Sales and Marketing at Vicon.
