Vicon’s New KollectorTM Lite DVR Provides New Entry Price to ViconNet Digital Video Management System

Hauppauge, NY, August 20, 2007:  Vicon introduces Kollector Lite XG, the new, value-priced addition to Vicon’s line of high-performance, network DVRs for use with ViconNet digital and IP-based video management software. Offering the same, high-resolution image quality (4 CIF) as other Kollector models, the 16-channel Kollector Lite XG offers a new entry price point for access to the premium performance and features offered by a ViconNet-based system. Consistent with ViconNet’s “fully scalable” philosophy, there is no limit to the number of Kollector Lite units that may be networked with a ViconNet NVR or Kollector Elite XG DVR. Available in 60 fps and 120 fps models and with up to 1 TB local storage, its flexible frame rate adjusts across the number of camera inputs, allowing system designers to accommodate required maximum viewing and recording rates by adjusting inputs per unit.

Like all Kollector models, the Lite uses MGPEG-4 compression to optimize data and maximize picture quality. Remote setup may be performed from any Kollector Elite or ViconNet Workstation on the network.  The unit fits within a standard 19” inch rack and has a height of 2 RU.

As Bret McGowan, Vicon’s V.P. of Sales and Marketing, explains, “Vicon has introduced the Kollector Lite in hopes that it will allow us to bring the exceptional power of ViconNet digital video management to a set of customers who may have previously found it to be out of their price range. Our focus remains on providing products that meet the highest standards for overall quality, reliability and performance, and we feel that the Kollector Lite fulfills these requirements while addressing the budgetary needs of some customers.”
