Hauppauge, NY, August 10, 2009: Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of integrated IP video surveillance and access control systems, has been awarded the contract to provide Westchester Medical Center with an extensive, network-based video surveillance system that will secure the entire property. The completed system will be a hybrid, comprised of both analog and IP components that are managed by ViconNet digital video management software. The system will be used to monitor everything from the facility’s operating rooms to parking garages, with video routed over the network to several designated monitoring stations.
Westchester Medical Center, located in New York’s Hudson Valley region, serves the area’s 3.5 million residents with a variety of specialized treatment programs, including leading centers for kidney and liver transplants, the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and a Level 1 Trauma Center. The Medical Center is a partner of the New York Medical College, providing top quality health care as well as teaching and medical research.
