Vicon Introduces New Pilot Matrix Switching System with Digital Control at ISC West, Booth 18053

Hauppauge, NY, March 1, 2008:  Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of video surveillance systems, will introduce its new Pilot line of crosspoint matrix switching systems at ISC West, booth 18053. The Pilot line offers a wide range of high-performance, high-density solutions, with the capacity to support installations of up to 8024 cameras and 512 monitors. All systems may be programmed using an intuitive, GUI-based Configurator program that allows users to create custom titling, auto function, salvo, tour and alarm condition profiles for their installation. These profiles may be created off line on a Windows®-based PC and then downloaded to a single or multiple systems.

The Pilot line consists of four models:

  • Pilot LiteTM : 32 x 8 matrix
  • Pilot PlusTM : 128 x 8 matrix
  • Pilot SelectTM : 256 x 16 matrix or 256 x 32 matrix (single card cage);  512 x 64 matrix (four card cages)
  • Pilot UltraTM : 8024 x 512 matrix

The Pilot line is the successor to Vicon’s popular NOVA line, providing the same high level of reliability in a higher-density, lower heat-generating design with improved operator interface. Externally, the units all feature an attractive silver front panel.

As Bret McGowan, Vicon’s V.P. of Sales and Marketing, explains, “Vicon’s historically strong presence in the corrections and gaming markets led to our decision to update our matrix line – the types of systems that these customers heavily rely on. While Vicon continues to lead the way in the development of digital and IP solutions, we recognize that surveillance technology is not a “one size fits all” proposition. We also need to cater to our more traditional customers who remain analog-based.”
