Hauppauge, NY, February 15, 2008 – Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of digital and IP video surveillance systems, is pleased to announce the introduction of the S10-CH mini camera dome with PTZ. The new S10-CH mini dome is diminutive in both size and price tag, but it’s packed with many high-powered features  commonly found in more expensive domes. Look for the S10-CH at ISC Booth 18053.

 The S10-CH features a color camera and lens with DSS (Digital Slow Shutter), pan/tilt drive, receiver and CPU-based electronics all packed in an attractive, lightweight enclosure intended for use in indoor installations (IP66). The camera has an integral 3.8-38 mm autoiris varifocal lens and provides 10X optical zoom combined with 10X digital zoom capability, for a total of 100X zoom functionality. The dome offers programmable presets, user-defined patterns (autotours), touring capability, user-defined sectors, as well as privacy mask zones. These all have titling capability. Four alarm inputs are available to activate with presets, tours or patterns. Autopan, Backlight Compensation, Iris control and White Balance are just some of the programmable features.

 The camera boasts a 1/4-inch Sony HAD CCD with 500 TV lines horizontal resolution and a sensitivity of 0.07 fc (0.7 lux). The dome provides 360° continuous rotation and tilt adjustment -2° to 90°. Pan and tilt speeds adjust in proportion to the zoom function. It also provides an image stabilization function that minimizes the appearance of shaky images caused by low-frequency vibration, wind and impact.

 The S10-CH is designed to be surface-mounted. A mount to install the unit in a dropped ceiling is available. An optional pendant mount adapter is included so the dome can be mounted in a pendant configuration with an appropriate mount
