Hauppauge, NY, January 9, 2008:  Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of video surveillance systems, announces the appointment of Brad Simons and Rory Chakeen as Vicon’s new Business Development Managers for northern and southern California. In these newly created positions, Mr. Simons and Mr. Chakeen will work to develop new business opportunities for Vicon by driving demand from end-user relationships.

Brad Simons will be working from an office in Santa Cruz, from which he will serve the territory north of and including Santa Barbara, California. He is an experienced sales veteran who has spent nearly the past decade working within the security and IT markets. Brad has held managerial positions at Autonomy Corporation and Cyrun Corporation, both manufacturers of security software, as well as Data Connect Solutions, a network systems integrator.   

Rory Chakeen will handle the state of California south of Santa Barbara working from an office in San Diego. Rory comes to Vicon with over 10 years of business development experience in the areas of wireless, unified communication, network security and inter-networking solutions. He has serviced both municipalities and enterprise accounts. Previous employers include WFI, a manufacturer of wireless network deployment solutions, XCeedium, ThruPoint and Lucent Technologies.
