Hauppauge, NY, May 15, 1998
Vicon Industries Inc. announces its Summer-Fall schedule of
training classes for the CCTV industry. Sessions are conducted
in Hauppauge, New York at Vicon's Corporate Training Facility,
in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, and at the MGM Grand
training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. These classes are
free of charge and are offered to dealers, specifiers, and
end-users.
"Our
schedule has been enhanced to include more hands-on, practical
classes, states Bob Grossman, Director of Customer and Technical

that is secondary".
Classes
range from a single day to week-long events. The subjects
include a popular "CCTV Boot Camp", which starts
with the basics, including cabling, camera and lens selection,
and goes through digital video products, remote positioning
devices, and crosspoint matrix switchers. In "System
Installation Workshop", the class designs and builds
a complete CCTV system including a console provided by Winsted,

covers the appropriate use of different technologies in system
design and integration. Other classes cover advanced installation,

Space
for these classes is limited, and reservations can be made
by calling Vicon at 1-800-645-9116, ext. 443.

IS PARTNER IN BUILDING NATION'S FIRST SMART STADIUM
Hauppauge, NY, April 15, 1998
Vicon Industries Inc., Lucent Technologies and Andover Controls
have combined their technologies for communication, environmental,
and building management systems into one cabling solution,
building the nationís first intelligent network used
in an indoor/outdoor baseball stadium.
Bank One
Ballpark in Phoenix, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, is
the nation's first indoor/outdoor"Smart Stadium,"
with network infrastructure that combines both communications
and technology information systems into one cabling pathway.
The "intelligent" solution provides the Diamondbacks
with a state-of-the-art facility designed to integrate voice,
video, and information technologies, including telephone services,

The stadium's
technology partners each provided a separate system component
that is integrated into a single solution to create the network's
intelligence. Vicon provides the latest in video communication
capability. Capable of controlling any camera in the ballpark,
Vicon's CPU-based NOVATM1466 control system selects cameras

lots, entrances, and concession areas. AurorATM digital video
multiplexers channel video simultaneously from up to 16 cameras
to one VCR while displaying all 16 videos in a digital multi-screen
format. In all, the ballpark contains 90 Vicon system cameras.
Andover Control's Infinity system provides control points
for operating the specialized systems for HVAC, security,
lighting, fire alarm, cable television, and the retractable
roof. Lucent Technologies SYSTIMAX provides the fiber-optic
backbone network through which all systems are integrated.
