Hauppauge, NY, December 15, 1998

Vicon Industries Inc. is proud to introduce three new digital cameras, Model VC2500-DSP, VC2600-DSP and VC2650-DSP. Digital control offers crisp lines, detail reproduction and assures that functions are unaffected by time and temperature.

Model VC2500-DSP is a 1/3-inch format color camera with line-locking with (180° V-phase. Synchronization may also be internal crystal control. It has backlight compensation and an automatic linear electronic shutter. Sensitivity is 0.05 fc (0.5 lux) at standard gain and 0.02 fc (0.2 lux) at high gain.

Model VC2600-DSP is a 1/3-inch format high resolution color camera with line-locking with (180° V-phase. Horizontal resolution is 460 lines. It has backlight compensation and an automatic linear electronic shutter. Sensitivity is 0.094 fc (1 lux) at standard gain and 0.038 fc (0.4 lux) at high gain.

Model VC2650-DSP is a 1/4-inch format color camera with a built-in 16X zoom lens. It offers external synchronization with line-locking. It has backlight compensation and an automatic linear electronic shutter. Sensitivity is 0.19 fc (2 lux).

The VC2500-DSP and VC2600-DSP include a set of DIP switches to control features such as BLC, AGC, Hi-Gain, AWB and Gamma selection. The VC2650-DSP uses an on-screen menu display to control these functions as well as source titling.

VICON EXPANDS ITS TRAINING SCHEDULE
Hauppauge, NY, May 15, 1998

Vicon Industries Inc. announces its Summer-Fall schedule of training classes for the CCTV industry. Sessions are conducted in Hauppauge, New York at Vicon's Corporate Training Facility, in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, and at the MGM Grand training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. These classes are free of charge and are offered to dealers, specifiers, and end-users.

"Our schedule has been enhanced to include more hands-on, practical classes, states Bob Grossman, Director of Customer and Technical Services for Vicon. While understanding theory is important, our customers are telling us that they want to learn how to design, install, and service systems ñ anything beyond that is secondary".

Classes range from a single day to week-long events. The subjects include a popular "CCTV Boot Camp", which starts with the basics, including cabling, camera and lens selection, and goes through digital video products, remote positioning devices, and crosspoint matrix switchers. In "System Installation Workshop", the class designs and builds a complete CCTV system including a console provided by Winsted, a Vicon Certified Partner. A"CCTV Systems Design Workshop" covers the appropriate use of different technologies in system design and integration. Other classes cover advanced installation, expansion, and programming of Vicon's popular Nova series of matrix switching and control systems and ProTech graphic user interface software.

Space for these classes is limited, and reservations can be made by calling Vicon at 1-800-645-9116, ext. 443.

Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, is the nation's first indoor/outdoor"Smart Stadium," with network infrastructure that combines both communications and technology information systems into one cabling pathway.
